NEWARK TECH WEEK

Newark Tech Week (NTW) is the state’s largest multicultural city-wide tech convention. We provide startup techies, tech-adjacent professionals, and corporate techies a place to convene and educate on a new frontier. NTW was re-founded to allow space for diverse thought on emerging technologies, culture, and ingenuity within the tech industry. This convention is the nexus between BIPoC technological innovation and culture modernization on a monumental stage.

MEET SOME OF OUR 2022 SPEAKERS

A native of Newark, whose family has lived in the City for more than 80 years, Mayor Baraka’s progressive approach to governing has won him accolades from grassroots organizations to the White House. With a forward-thinking agenda that reduced crime to its lowest levels in five decades, addressed affordability while maintaining steady growth, lowered unemployment, returned local control of schools after more than two decades, and replaced all 23,000 known lead service lines in less than three years at no cost to residents, Baraka has defied expectations since taking office in 2014.

One of the most sought after minds in strategic communications, Rakia Reynolds is a thought leader, taste maker and branding expert who advises name brands on creative strategy. Rakia has been named by Inc. Magazine as one of the 27 Business Leaders Aiming to Change the World, was listed as one of the 25 Most Socially Influential Tastemakers on Dell’s “Inspire 100” list, and recently was also profiled by Forbes on their “Next 1000” list.

Alexandra curates and speaks at events all over the world, hosts her television show, podcast, host health & wellness retreats, and creates book tours for her best selling book, all titled “Think Like a Boss” all while calling upon her experiences in life, corporate America, College Business Professor, and the entertainment industry to motivate and inspire individuals to think like a boss! 
 

Daniel Adeyanju is passionate about creating pathways to economic mobility through technology education. He serves as the Director of Programs at The Knowledge House, where he oversees the student lifecycle from recruitment to persistence to career success. Prior to TKH, he was Co-Founder and Program Director at Kura Labs. 

Kelly Velicia Outing is a Newark-born and bred social rights advocate. As the community manager of =SPACE, they work tirelessly to provide resources and opportunities for multicultural founders, LGBTQ+ ventures, and women-led startups. 

Jheryn Kenney is a Key Account Manager for LinkedIn’s Sales Solutions Business, where she co-leads the Professional Services Management Consulting segment. She has extensive experience in managing complex global accounts and is an award-winning voice in the sales and diversity space, having been recognized and/ or gracing the podium of organizations from Sales Success Stories (SSS), and Top Percentile Collective (TPC), to Black Professionals in Tech Network (BPTN), ADCOLOR, National Sales Network (NSN), and LinkedIn.

She’s wife to Alturrick, and mother to Yasmin (8) and Elijah (5).

Della M. Walker Jr. is a Newark, New Jersey, native and veteran management professional with over twenty years of experience in operations, business development, training, coaching, and workforce development. Della leads Newark Alliance’s HR Roundtable, Northern NJ Prologis Community Workforce Initiative, Healthcare Industry Partnership, Tech and Innovation Industry Partnership, and the Arts, Film, Entertainment, and Television Workforce Collective. 

Medina is a Creative Strategist who has over 10 years of experience in Design & Strategy. Medina leads campaigns in an ever-immersive media world, driven by high-engaging multicultural millennial audiences. His passion for strategy and design led to the creation of MEDINA = CITI, a design collective, which delves into the worlds of Print Design, Web Design, Multimedia, Film Production, Photography, Ongoing/Contributing Marketing Strategies and Social Media campaigns.

Robinhood Opportunity Crypto
